Introduction

While I am not staunchly conservative, my political leanings are closer to the center. Nonetheless, I have felt disappointed by Trump's approach and his broader impact on the conservative movement. The inability to see substantial changes, such as securing the border, cleaning the swamp, and addressing government overreach, has deeply frustrated me and many of my conservative counterparts. This article examines the reasons behind Trump's actions, his influence on the conservative cause, and the broader impact on the Republican party and individual conservatives.

What's the Worst Reason Why Trump Could Act How He Does?

Recalling comments from various political figures, one point that resonates is the question of trust. Rand Paul's quote during one of the debates, something along the lines of, "Where did you come from? How can we trust you?" highlights the apprehension and skepticism surrounding Trump. Another influential figure, Littlefinger's quote, further reinforces the idea that actions speak louder than words. By observing the outcomes of his actions, one can deduce his true intentions.

The Consequences of Trump's Actions

The swamp was not cleaned, and government overreach remains a significant issue.

Republicans have underperformed in the last three elections, losing control of the House and Senate.

Candidates selected by Trump underperformed, and the "Red Wave" failed to materialize in 2022.

Moreover, the current administration is perceived as incompetent, yet Democrats are still favored to win in 2024. This scenario has led many to question the effectiveness of Trump's actions. The impact on conservative non-conformists is also significant, with many like Scott Adams, Stephen Crowder, and Tucker Carlson experiencing career setbacks.

Unveiling the Conspiracy

Some believe that Trump's actions might be part of a larger, more sinister plan. The insinuation is that Trump's close ties with Democrats and his reputation as an effective salesman could indicate a deeper, more complex motive. While this idea may seem far-fetched, the reality is that his actions have not benefited the conservative cause, nor have they brought the desired changes.

Unfavorable Comparisons

A ruling class that lost a trillion dollars worth of military equipment, experienced high inflation, and a porous border.

Political figures like Scott Adams and Stephen Crowder have divorced, while Tucker Carlson has been out of Fox News.

Populist right-wing figures have also faced significant backlash, with some being "cancelled."

Despite these challenges, some positive developments have emerged. Organizations like the Daily Wire and Breitbart News have thrived, and new political stars like Ron DeSantis and Cindy Yonkin have risen to prominence. However, the damage to the conservative movement cannot be ignored.

In conclusion, the impact of Trump's actions on the conservative cause has been largely negative. The failure to secure the border, clean the swamp, and address government overreach, coupled with a series of losses in elections, raises significant questions about the effectiveness of his leadership. While there is always hope for change, the current situation suggests that the conservative cause has not benefited from his tenure. The persistence of those who believe Trump will "fix everything" is a testament to his enduring appeal, but it does not alter the reality of his actions and their consequences.
