While there are some less affordable areas in Philadelphia, the majority of the Northwest region is both safe and affordable. Neighborhoods like Roxborough, Manayunk, East Falls, Mt. Airy, and parts of Germantown offer a good balance of safety and affordability. Despite parts of Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill being more expensive, this primarily reflects the abundance of larger homes on bigger lots, which are abundant in these areas. However, they also present opportunities for those seeking spacious living.

The Northeast, particularly the far Northeast, is generally affordable and safe. However, depending on your workplace, it might be more beneficial to consider living in the suburbs if a longer commute is acceptable. If you are a student at Temple University, you can find convenient accommodations near the campus.

If you prefer to live in a single-family home, you might consider the Greater Northeast area. Though more suburban, it offers a quieter, less crowded lifestyle. Each neighborhood in Philadelphia, from the urban downtown to the edge of the city, has its unique character. A visit to the city might be worthwhile to explore these areas firsthand.
