Mention a high-rise building with two-story loft apartments that later turned into a hotel? That’s a unique experience in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Frank Lloyd Wright built it, and it’s one of the defining features of the city’s skyline. Initially conceived for residential and office use, this building was later repurposed to offer unforgettable accommodations. I booked two nights in anticipation, and the day arrived just in time for the birthday of the architect himself. The only high-rise Wright ever built, I was excited to experience the opulence of the top floor apartments. How many such opportunities do we get to stay in a building that’s a national treasure?

Rocky Mountaineer Rescheduling and Adventure in Canada

In 2013, we had a Rocky Mountaineer holiday planned. However, an unfortunate event in Calgary altered our plans. Due to heavy flooding, hotels were closed, and the train had to reschedule. But instead of disappointment, we encountered a silver lining. Rocky Mountaineer upgraded our hotels and still managed to accommodate our trip, albeit a little differently. We started our journey from Vancouver and finally made it to the Calgary Stampede! Although the trip was delayed and unexpected, it turned out to be a silver lining. The resilience and flexibility of the Rocky Mountaineer team ensured that we still had an unforgettable adventure in the most scenic route across Canada.

Exploring the Charm of Switzerland

Switzerland is a place that captures the heart with its scenic beauty and friendly locals. From the stunning Alps to the picturesque villages, this country has it all. My experience of living there for six months in 1985 stands out. We arrived with our daughter, an English learning journey in tow. Attending the local village school and participating in weekly hikes with the community, we felt like part of the fabric of Switzerland.

The people of Switzerland are renowned for their friendliness, courtesy, and humor. Whether you're hiking in the rugged mountains or strolling through quaint villages, you're likely to hear a friendly greeting from a fellow Swiss. Our neighbors were supportive, and many could easily communicate in English. It was not just a vacation but a lifestyle.
