While the highest areas of the Alps can be harsh and frozen, the mid-altitude regions are stunning with lush greenery.

Day 12: Return to Paris - Exploring the Black Forest and Romantic Road

Returning to Paris, make a side trip to Heidelberg in Germany. Spend a couple of days exploring the picturesque Black Forest, visiting charming towns such as Todtnau or Triberg, and enjoying the scenic hike in nearby areas. From there, travel to Baden-Baden or Freiburg, and explore the Romantic Road, a stunning stretch of road through the Baden-Württemberg region.

Note: The travel season can be challenging, especially in the highest altitudes. For a more scenic experience, aim to travel in the mid-altitude areas during the winter season.
